Dasher Denning was indeed a colourful character and much mourned by the Somerset faithful, but he made his debut in 1969 and his biography is therefore included in “Somerset Cricketers 1946-1970)”

However, there is one glaring omission of a fantastic cricketer who devoted his whole playing life to Somerset, before his life was tragically cut short. I am of course talking about Peter ” Dasher” Denning, whom I had the privilege of playing with whilst at St Luke’s College between 1969 and 1972. He was a Somerset stalwart and needs to be included in this wonderful book.
